Conversation Starters: Ploughing a Troll

Here is yet another post that has something to do with music. Actually, this post centers around a song and how it would be an interesting conversation starter due to the fact the song itself is one innuendo after another – of the dirty sort. When I first stumbled across this song, I couldn’t quite believe my ears.

However, before moving onward…

Listen To The Song:

Miracle of Sound is an interesting band, that’s for certain. With most of the songs made by MoS being centered around video games, MoS always has something every person will like. I have a few posts on Wandering Worlds where their songs are on display. I like the band quite a lot, though this song…

Now, for all of you who are conversant with fantasy or video games with trolls in them, you now have a song in your hands that can shock, or horrify, your friends. Each of us can get a laugh at this song while also using it for more nefarious purposes. Like me, I’m sure each of you know one person who is a ‘troll,’ either in appearance or mannerisms.

Or maybe you know a friend who’s dating someone that’s like a troll?

Can you imagine serenading them singing:

There once was a farmer from old Flotsam town
Who was tired of sowing his seeds on the ground
He went for a wander and walked till the dawn
Till a wanton old she troll he stumbled upon

And a hey-ho he’s ploughing a troll!
The gods only know how the key fits the hole
Around in the stinking great den they did roll
And a hey-ho he’s ploughing a troll!

Granted, you’d have to be a very brave person to sing this while following someone, but it would be a rather hilarious scenario. This song does make me think of a scene from Merlin, a show that I’m in love with, where Uther Pendragon, father of Arthur, falls under a rather hilarious enchantment. For those of you who like funny scenes from any movie, you’ll likely get a crack of this.

With Uther Pendragon married and in love with a troll (even if my enchantment), the song ‘Ploughing a Troll’ fits rather nicely. I would think any of us would have a similar reaction like Arthur and Morgana once they realize their daddy is married to a gray, ugly, stinking troll. At least Arthur and Morgana weren’t stalking their father after this singing the song that’s got us all cracking up. Though I wouldn’t have minded if they had.

It would have added to the humor of the show, even if it isn’t a musical.

These two videos, one a song and the other a scene from a TV series, does portray how each of us are when it comes to unbecoming relationships. One person, who’s ploughing a troll, is almost in a trance while the rest of us are trying to figure out how the bloody hell it came about in the first place. It’s a situation where each of us will have to be very conversant with our skills (or lack thereof) to get through a place in time where we’d rather turn away or strangle someone for their stupidity.

I hope you all get a crack of this, much like I have.

So, until next time, have fun!
